It is always helpful to spend some time in quiet reflection about what we here to do. It may take some time but it is worth the effort. Otherwise we lead a borrowed life, a life that is no more ours, an artificial life so to say. Then just to escape from this artificial life we try to do stupid things such as taking drugs or even extreme steps to call it quits. This only complicates matters since what we have left undone is bound to haunt us further. Death is not the cessation of our journey, it is only the cessation of breath and with it the disintegration of our breath-fastened house, the breakdown of one vehicle or mode of our travel. It is a change of house or the vehicle but the end of the road. The journey continues across the bend that we call as end. We return in other bodies, assume other personalities to complete the curves of destiny we have initiated. To postpone therefore what we are meant to be is to play at cross-purposes with destiny and try to deceive it. But destiny finds its way. It has its own means of course correction which sometimes seem and are indeed harsh for our body and mind to bear.
If we want Destiny to be gentler and softer then we must also be refined and learn to listen to the little voice within. Not that it would take away all danger and difficulty from our life. That would be an absurdity given the evolutionary nature of everything on earth. Evolution implies a certain amount of struggle, a struggle between what we must leave behind and what we yet must be, a conflict of forces so to say. Sometimes the struggle may even take an acute form since we have chosen to step out of our comfort zones of pleasure and satisfactions of the flesh, and instead chosen the path that brings the deep fulfillment of our soul. In fact, when we are determined to move in the direction of our true Destiny then each struggle becomes a feeder of strength and a step towards the truth of our being. Yet, at the same time, and that is the big difference, when we try to align ourselves with our true destiny, then a hand of Protection and a Guidance also walks with us. This hand of Grace carries us through the battlefield of life. Therefore it is important to look carefully into our tastes and tendencies, our true calling, the cry in our heart, the call of our soul. To be able to do that needs courage and faith and above all surrender to the Grace that would hold us when we stumble and fall, even turn them into spring boards for a greater leap into the future.
