This talk is about the origin of Savitri as a mantra and its birth through Sri Aurobindo’s Consciousness.
Sri Aurobindo reveals the nature of darkness that precedes dawn. This darkness is pregnant with a greater Light that is about to take birth. Such is the cosmic state before creation.
Dawn arrives and darkness is cleaved to make a passage for her coming.
Sri Aurobindo uses the image of dawn as a symbol his deeper vision of Savitri as an Avatara of the Divine Mother, Her Work and Mission.
Dawn arrives with its gifts of Light and Hope and a new creation but earth is not ready and man refuses the Light. He prefers the old consciousness to the new one.
The Avatara is the Divine action upon Earth. Though He is always present and acts from behind the veil, yet from time to time He takes a human birth and carries the load of human destiny in his lonely heart.
Divine beings have come to earth from time to time but humanity does not value it. Man turns away from the savior hands of Grace.
The Divine descends into our humanity assuming a human form so as to bear the burden of man’s Fate.
