The power of Life has descended upon earth from its native plane.
Life becomes an aimless drift as it emerges out of matter where it has lost itself. It begins to emerge and start its evolutionary journey as a prisoner of matter and fully dependent upon it.
The slow progressive emergence of life out of matter and using matter as its base creates various distinct types of life-forms.
Sri Aurobindo is revealing to us a whole occult side of life, not just the layers and levels but also the beings and forces and energies at each level.
It is the handiwork of these forces of lower vital world that makes our life so short and insignificant.
Such is the strong grip of this little life upon us that we remain strongly tied to it. Our being centered around our little desires and moved by these forces we miss the real purpose of life.
The movements of lower nature are only a provisional scheme, a spring board for a still higher ascent of life.
There is in us a spark of God that takes in and grows through all experiences, however dark they may seem, for its growth towards God and Light.
