Opening remarks for Book Two Canto 1: The World-Stair
Aswapati now takes a look at the world stair, that is to say the levels of Consciousness that ascend and descend like a ladder. It is the ladder of Involution and Evolution, the route through which the formless Spirit became Matter and also the path that the soul must take in its evolutionary journey. This process of involution is described here and also the purpose of this lapse and its role in our evolutionary journey.
