What exactly is the difference between the Supermind and the Overmind?
The Supermind is the total Truth Consciousness; the Overmind draws down the truths separately and gives them a separate activity — e.g. in the Supermind the Divine Peace and Power, Knowledge and Will are one. In the Overmind each of these becomes a separate aspect which can exist or act on its own lines apart from the others. When it comes down to Mind they turn into an ignorance and incapacity

As soon as I stepped in, She saturated me. I entered an altogether different world. I had to struggle to keep my eyes open. Ultimately they got closed. The whole of Matrimandir seemed to be rolling from side to side. So I opened my eyes and saw that Matrimandir was steady, but again as I shut them, Matrimandir appeared to be tossing and turning like before.

This day of 28th February 1968 was unique in the world’s history — as expressed in an ancient Sanskrit saying — न भूतो न भविष्यति — it has never happened before and will not occur in the future!
Why cannot the human body, this house of clay, be illumined with the Divine Light that dwells within us? Such is the aspiration that Aswapati implants upon earth. He aspires to bring down the greater world, the Glory he has glimpsed, here upon earth.

Whilst Sri Aurobindo’s main interests in the early stages of his development were literature, poetry, languages and history, for the Mother they were, no doubt, art and music. But these were to her forms of expression which led to something deeper or revealed something hidden within: the search for God and spiritual realization were her sole objective in all things.

What has outer greatness got to do with the Yogis? [...]
Obviously outer greatness is not the aim of Yoga. But that is no reason why one should not recognise the part played by greatness in the order of the universe or the place of great men of action, great poets and artists etc. [...] People have begun to try to prove that great men were not great, which is a very great mistake.
