Social life belongs to a stage of evolution where the animal and the brute in us needs to be tamed by the outer pressure of the group.
Next comes the stage of individualism wherein the individual often, though not necessarily always, reacts and revolts against the social ways that it finds no more relevant, inapplicable anymore and otiose the present state of social evolution. During this stage one starts developing personal values and ethics based on one’s deeper reflections. This is the stage that is being presently accelerated as it is the needed intermediary stage before the spiritual evolution proper can emerge.
It is only when one has tasted and tested the social and individual stages of evolution and seen through its limits and limitations that one begins to explore and engage in the further spiritual evolution.
So while social life of some kind or the other is always there but the basis of our action should not be social consciousness or social acceptance and social approval but what is true and right and beautiful.
