Last night Amal told me that you had spoken of “a permanent home of Sri Aurobindo in the subtle-physical”. At once my mind went back to a dream in last September. This is how it ran:
The Supermind was established in Sri Aurobindo but it had not transformed his body. To put it precisely, he did not have a supramentalised body and that is why he could undergo death.
Only one country in the world knows that there is only one Truth to which everything should be turned, and that country is India.... India is the cradle of the Truth and will lead the world to it. But she has to realise her role, and then she will find her real place in the world.
It was very interesting, the experience I had that night. Nothing like it I ever had in my life. ... He was coming out of himself and gathering and pouring himself into me.
One must cling to the Divine within. All these things — harmony in the collective and so on — they are all right, but it is to the Divine within that you have to cling.
Suddenly in the night I woke with the full awareness of what we could call the Yoga of the World. The Supreme Love was manifesting through big pulsations, and each pulsation was bringing the world further in its manifestation.
The Mother was not well for some time in early 1962. But she kept on working. She even came to the Balcony now and again to give the morning Darshan as usual. But the 18th of March was the last day. After that, she fell seriously ill and did not come down from her room on the second floor.
The Mother: ... what happened was something tremendous. Suddenly a flood of light came pouring forth, as if the divine gate had been thrown wide open. It continued for twenty minutes.
Just as November 24 promised with the descent of the delegate consciousness of the Supermind the advent of the true Supramental Divinity, November 26 confirmed to the very last particular of supramentalisation what the earlier occasion had betokened in general: the very last particular is the divinisation of the body.
