Opening Remarks
It is out of Her infinite Grace that the Divine Mother leans down towards creation illumining the kingdoms of Greater Mind with Her Glory and Her Light.
Gracious game
Truth smiled upon the gracious golden game.
The eye of Truth watching over creation from eternity smiled to see the Divine Mother consenting to limit Herself for Her children who seek and call Her.
The great and boundless Goddess
Out of her hushed eternal spaces leaned
The great and boundless Goddess feigned to yield
The sunlit sweetness of her secrecies.
Though eternal and infinite She feigns to yield her secrets and sunlit sweetness. She leans down and ties herself to the heart and mind of a seeking mortal.
She made earth her home
Incarnating her beauty in his clasp
She gave for a brief kiss her immortal lips
And drew to her bosom one glorified mortal head:
She made earth her home, for whom heaven was too small.
In a human breast her occult presence lived;
He carved from his own self his figure of her:
She shaped her body to a mind’s embrace.
Out of her love and grace She has accepted to limit Her Glory in her forms and powers and personalities to suit the needs of her devotees. She has consented to come down to earth for whom heaven was small. Dwelling within the human heart She adopts the image that the devotee has carved in his heart and mind.
Thought’s narrow limits
Into thought’s narrow limits she has come;
Her greatness she has suffered to be pressed
Into the little cabin of the Idea,
The closed room of a lonely thinker’s grasp:
She has lowered her heights to the stature of our souls
And dazzled our lids with her celestial gaze.
She has consented to be confined within thought’s narrow limits. She has suffered her greatness to be limited to the idea that man holds of her. She has lowered her heights to the stature of our souls and looked upon us dazzling our lids.
Each is satisfied with his high gain
Thus each is satisfied with his high gain
And thinks himself beyond mortality blest,
A king of truth upon his separate throne.
Thus each is satisfied thinking himself to be her favourite as if a king of truth upon his separate throne.
A single splendour
To her possessor in the field of Time
A single splendour caught from her glory seems
The one true light, her beauty’s glowing whole.
Yet even her single splendour is too great for human hearts, too strong for human mind to bear. Yet holding a little of it man feels that he has now possesses her and has found the one true light and her beauty’s glowing whole.
Closing Remarks
The Divine Mother, out of her infinite Grace leans down towards creation and even consents to limit herself sacrificing her infinity so that man can be pulled up towards the Eternal and the Infinite.
