The Mother’s arrival to India and Her meeting Sri Aurobindo for the first time upon earth on the 29th March 1914 is an event of momentous significance. As we move closer to the centenary of this great event, it is worth taking a closer look at its deeper significance, its importance to earth and men and most importantly delve a little upon how to commemorate it.
The easiest of course is to look at it through the lens of the obvious outer facts and rejoice in it. It is also easy to organize some events outward (with an inward turn), a common group meditation, talks or programs etc on the said day. But perhaps what is needed is something more. The event is traced in the Earth-memory as an event when the Divine came to man as Mother and retracing a journey that started long, long back, even before Time and Space were born, comes back full circle back to Her Lord, bringing with Her all the riches of the evolutionary experiment with creation and laying them back at His Feet for the next cycle.
We take a look at this side of the story and the way we can participate in it.
