You have spoken there of Yourself, of the deepest mystery of Your inner aspirations and longings, of marvellous contacts and communions, of great transformations and transmutations, of enormous risks and hazards ...
Savitri now fills in the gaps in Death’s ignorance which he passes off as Knowledge. She reveals the mystic Truth of creation and its progressive manifestation through imperfect forms.
Sri Aurobindo describes this primitive humanity that still continues to exist and yet goes unrecognised since it has learnt to hide itself in the garb of dress and a group behaviours that only ensure and strengthen its survival rather than any deeper search.

How long shall I allow my temple to be defiled by those forces of darkness and falsehood? At my present rate of progress, I shall never be able to rid me of their evil influence completely. With my unaided strength, I shall never be able to conquer them finally. Come then, Mother, with Thy mighty violence smashing all obstacles in me, snapping all the chords of desire and attachment
All that is needed now is to have faith and endurance and go on until the victory that has been won in principle is generalized in each and every detail of the individual existence and the collective life of humanity.
A heaven of creative truths above,
A cosmos of harmonious dreams between,
A chaos of dissolving forms below,
It plunges lost in our inconscient base.
Out of its fall our denser Matter came.
Sweet Mother, is the subconscient stronger than the mind, vital and physical?
It has a greater power. [...] There are many things which one doesn’t wish to keep and drives out from the active consciousness, but they go down there, hide there, and because it is subconscious one doesn’t notice them [...] And then, when you are off your guard ... it rises up and comes out.
Sri Aurobindo draws here a parallel between the animal life and the life of primitive humanity that is driven largely by animal impulses. It is a life driven by external stimulus and instinctive impulse. Self-reflection, self-knowledge, self-awareness are not yet there.

We carry in our depths the strength to face any challenge that falls as our share of Destiny. In fact moments of crisis are also moments when we can discover some utmost source of strength within us. Thus is it for Savitri who in this moment of utter despair taps into her highest and deepest source of strength.
"Y when he was here asked for Yoga. I told him how to make his mind silent and it became silent. He immediately got frightened and said, “I am becoming a fool, I can’t think”, so I took what I had given away from him. That is how the average mind regards silence."
